The College Life

8 11 2009

Well, my first semester of college is coming to an end. With weeks before Christmas break and finals. I’m actually quite nervous of finals, so far in all my classes I am doing quite well. Pulling at least 3 A’s and possibly one B if it is not an A.

With that, this week I had signed up for my classes for next semester. I am actually looking forward to my classes. They seem like a lot of fun :) Well, besides one class…University Physics. Sounds like total torture.

My class schedule is:

  • University Physics I
  • University Physics I Lab
  • Ethics in Contemporary Society
  • English Composition II
  • Introduction to Art History
  • U.S. History up to 1877

See, my schedule is not that hard, and I read up on my professors and all them are good and nice professors. See, the thing I love about my college is that all your classes are actually taught by a professor instead of a T.A. We are a small school, so we get to have this privileged. Unfortunately, because we are such a small school, we do not have a football team but that is alright. Why? Because our soccer and other sports teams kicks ass. With multiple National Championships under our belt :D GO ARGOS!

Description: I had recently downloaded a new photo manipulation program called Paint.Net. Since I was to lazy to find Photoshop CS3, and I didn’t feel like installing it. Anyways, so I needed some practice with it, and I came up with this signature. The image used is © of Pkingsora.  I think for a first time use of the program, it isn’t that bad.

I guess not smoking indoors…

6 09 2009

does not apply to Clubs. Interesting I thought that law applied to everywhere in Florida. I went to a club, called Seville on Thursday, to see how it was. Holy crap, It was so foggy in there from everyone smoking. When I first arrived in the club I was surprised that people were allowed to smoke inside the building.

Either they are breaking the law, or the law does not apply to clubs and bars. So after that night, when I came home, I smelt like I rolled around in an ashtray, which is quite disgusting. But hmm, what Can I do?

Anyways, lately I have been playing Call of Duty: World at War a lot with my friend Marshall. lst night me and him stayed up in my dorm till 5 in the morning. I have gotten pretty awesome in the game. Been mercing people left and right. Yesterday, Marshall taught me some tricks of the game, since he really rocks at that game, he is ranked 309 in the world.

So our little 1-on-1 match, when I went back online people were so much easier to kill. It was awesome. I’m starting to become a real wrecking machine online, going 21-10.

Last night, I also put in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, for the first time in a while. I have to say, my skills still held up in that game. As I crawled on the battlefield, the sound of explosions ringing through my ears, my eyes caught site of an object moving in the distance. Bringing my Barrett .50 Caliber to my eye, aiming at the distant object, slowly pulling the trigger and acquiring a head shot. It felt nice.

Well, it is late. Good Night everyone :)

Currently I am testing the Blog editor that is bundled in Flock. Which is a browser based on Firefox 3.xx. Which is nice :D It has a lot of social networking components to it and integrates it with your every day browsing. It’s nice :D

Bought My Laptop :D

1 08 2009

Ok so I had purchased a laptop nearly a month ago. The Asus G71-Gx. It was awesome, had a quad core 6 gigs of ram  blu rayand the new nvidia GTX260m. Well needless to say, a month later and many delays later I still don’t have it. So yesterday, I canceled my order and brought a new laptop. I brought the new Alienware m17x. Here are the specs :D

SYSTEM COLOR Space Black – Anodized Aluminum
PROCESSOR Intel® Core™2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz (6MB Cache, 1066MHz FSB)
OPERATING SYSTEM Windows Vista Home Premium (64 bit) + Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Coupon
VIDEO CARD Dual NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 260M, 2GB – SLI® Enabled
LCD PANEL 17-inch WideUXGA 1920×1200 (1200p)
MEMORY 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 at 1333MHz
HARD DRIVE 640GB – 2x 320GB 7,200RPM – RAID 0
INTERNAL OPTICAL DRIVE Slot-Load Dual Layer DVD Burner (DVD+-RW, CD-RW)

Yeah so I lose 2 gigs of Ram, but I have faster Ram in this computer.  Losing hte blu ray isn’t a big deal since i have my ps3. And losing 2 cores is alright since this one is faster and overclockable to 3.2 which is better for games :D

Hopeful DSi features

10 07 2009

After a couple days having the DSi I have compiled a list of hopeful features and apps that could be implemented in the DS. Here we go.

First off, I believe that Nintendo should take Microsofts approach to things and incorporate social networking into the DSi.

APPLICATIONS
-Twitter = Come on everyone has twitter now and days. People just sit around twiterring away their life. For those without a smartphone ir something a Twitter app would be great for mobile tweeting.
-E-mail = Honestly, with the browser you can e-mail just fine. Just the hassle of logging in everytime and then navigating to each site.
-News Service = A place to get all your news.

UPGRADES
-Avatars = Come on guys, as much fun as everyone has making their mii’s. There needs to be a DSi version. While be able to be used in downloadable titles.
-Tabbed Browsing = Honestly, after the implementation of tabs in about every browser I’m surprised the DSi browser does not have it.
-Browser access to pictures = To be able to e-mail the pictures you take. Or to save pictures from the internet would be cool.

I mean, yeah most of these additions eill never happen. Probably because they are buisness oriented, but it doesn’t mean it wouldn’t be a welcomed addition.

My only beef with the DSi store is the lack if content flowing into the store. There needs to be some sort if weekly update thing. And, whats up with applications like Matio Calculator and Mario Watch. Are they serious?

A big addition I think that needs to be developed is a Nintendo social networking site. Now that the DSi can access the internet oretty much anytime. Here you can upload photos, keep a record of all your friends codes, and possibly show what games you have been playing. This would also go with the Wii.

I don’t know I think that stuff would be cool. Be prepared for future updates to this post.

This post provided by the DSi :)

I’m Impressed

8 07 2009

I really am. Right now I am typing this, looking at my screen, with the faint clicking noises of the virtual keyboard ringing in my ear. Right now, I am typing this entry with my Nintendo DSi.

Despite the lack of Flash support, the browsing experience is amazing. Coming from the PSP browser this is a lot better and more enjoyable browsing experience.

If you ever browsed the internet with the PSP you probably experienced the “Nit enough memory” message. Well, even on some really graphic intensive websites, joystiq, I was successfully able to load the page with no hassle.

The biggest plus is the virtual keyboard which makes typing a breeze. Anyways, I just wanted to express mu love to my new DSi.

There’s some things I would add to the DSi, which is now possible with the new DSi shop. But, that will be for another post. Cheers all!

Happy 4th of July [A little late]

Happy 4th

Happy 4th of July

Well I hope everyone had a nice and safe 4th of July weekend. Personally, mine was a real blast. I spent the day at a family friend’s house, where we played pool volleyball four about 2 hours. The BBQ was spectacular, as I have not been that full for a while.

Lately, I have been feeling very creative, so you guys should be seeing lots of new graphics and such coming from me. I’m kinda in the mood to make an Galaga game for no apparent reason. But alas, we shall find out what will happen in the coming days.

Though, I will be writing some reviews up in a couple days. I’m a little behind, considering I have not had a working computer for a while, hopefully they aren’t mad at me.

Well everyone, take care and good night.
